GENERAL SCOPE AND CONTENTS:

Artifacts relating to the life of Samuel L. Clemens (Mark Twain), 750books by and about Twain; photographs; manuscript of The Adventures ofTom Sawyer, (1876), for English publication; five paintings of Twain andhis family, (1876-1890). The Florida Research Collection, (1860- ), ofnewspaper articles relating to Florida, MO. The Hartford FurnitureCollection comprised of seven pieces of furniture which were housed inTwain's home in Hartford, CT. They were purchased from his daughter,Clara, in 1951.
