GENERAL SCOPE AND CONTENTS:
The archival and manuscriptcollections pertain principally to the Washington UniversityMedical Center and its member institutions, to teaching andresearch conducted there, and the medical practice in St. Louis.Additional information relates to selected other cities andcountries where Washington University faculty and alumni havebeen active. The holdings include institutional records,personal papers, photographs, Medical Center serials andephemera, totalling ca. 1,500 lin. ft., 1812-present. Thedivision also administers nine rare book collections, ca. 15,000vols., 1477-1930, and a history of medicine referencecollection.
